India... a country with a glorious tradition of fine textiles - silks, embroidery, mirror-work, block-prints, prized for centuries around the world. And for generations, village families in the state of Rajasthan have been producing exquisite block-printed textiles.

Since 1984, Soma has been bringing these fine products to the world, providing the link between the over 300 families involved in the production and the thousands of consumers who have come to depend on us for consistent quality and world-class creativity.

Many village women who are engaged in child-care and homemaking are able to supplement their family's income by working in their homes, hand-quilting, embroidering, or attaching beads and tassels to garments. From these remote villages to the city showrooms, women play important roles at all stages of creativity, production and management.

Whether weaving, washing, printing, or shipping, each member of the Soma family takes pride in their contribution knowing that they are an important part of the success of the whole. Soma supports its members by treating them as family, sharing their important occasions like weddings and births and being there to help during crises like accidents and illnesses.

We provide top quality health care with a weekly ayurvedic clinic - providing check-ups and medicines accessible not only to our staff, but to their family members as well. We are proud that many people have been with the company since it began!

Backstage

Soma House, where designing, production planning, quality control, packing and administration takes place is located in a quiet suburb on the outskirts of Jaipur, the busy capital of the state of Rajasthan. The building is bright and airy and is surrounded by lawns and gardens. The working atmosphere is pleasant and informal.

Each season we create a new fashion collection with colours, styling and quality in tune with European markets yet sensitive to the requirements of the Indian consumer. We also offer garments geared to international needs such as dresses, skirts, jackets, vests, men's shirts and children's clothing.
